Project Overview
Law defines the boundaries society uses to protect itself. Correctional institutions reflect a nation's power through the control of space. The environment in which offenders are placed is undoubtedly the primary site for both social protection and personal rehabilitation. This project works with the three correctional institutions in Yanchao District, breaking away from the conventional prison spatial typology through a heterogeneous landscape. It aims to cultivate rehabilitation skills, foster a meaningful connection with nature and daily life, and introduce a healing garden that supports addiction recovery — ultimately creating a human-centered correctional park.
